her story
2018 Lofoten / Norway
She says, what is important for us is " We really feel that we are living on this Earth.”
Since 2016, she has continued to create works based on that theme.
It all started when she was around two years old,
when she developed an interest and admiration for living organisms and the natural environment.
The experiences that she has gained inside and outside of Japan, from horseback riding and snorkeling in the ocean,
interacting with different creatures, Boy Scouts and from traveling and hiking are an important core of her life.
Through these experiences, she gained a sense of happiness and security in being close to living creatures
and the natural environment, and it lead to her feeling that she is a living being just like them.
And she realized that the reason for this feeling was "truly living on the earth.”
She continues to observe living things and the natural environment in various places in domestic and overseas.
All her artwork is based on these experiences, which have been renewed from her childhood to the present.
The tendency of her artwork is to be in an outdoors setting.
She uses a method that can only be completed with the help of nature.
This allows the work to move in ways that even she herself cannot control and expresses the
"wonderfulness of not being able to do what we humans want" when we are confronted with actual living creatures.
With these approaches,
she hopes to connect the relationship between humans, living creatures, and the natural environment in her work.
